Day 1. Kampala – Lake Bunyonyi
Start your self drive car rental trip in Uganda to the south of this pearl of Africa at the famous scenic lake Bunyonyi.Enjoy an incredibly exciting self drive safari through the local villages and the lush green vegetation towards the equator. The equator line stop is an option for a coffee break as you proceed south. Opt for lunch at Agip motel in mbarara or take our Offer for lunch and enjoy an amazing traditional Ugandan meal prepared by a truly Ugandan woman in an African home and in a simple setting. After your wonderful lunch experience, you will proceed south to lake Bunyonyi in kabale, on the second deepest lake in Africa.

Day 2. The boat cruise to the Batwa community.
Enjoy your second day of self drive car rental on the most scenic Lake Bunyonyi. With lots of amazing activities to do, You can opt to enjoy a calm dugout canoe or boat cruise, visit the traditional islands including the up-side down island and the punishment island. Consider visiting and hiking the top of the mountains visit an isolated Batwa community living at the top of the mountain, the views as you hike are spectacular and rewarding. The Batwa community sing for you the traditional dances and you can as well join them and dance to the traditional dance. Forget being the “muzungus” as we call the white people.You can later have your lunch and enjoy another self drive car rental safari to Bwindi impenetrable National Park through this rain-forest and enjoy the exhaling cool breeze, monkeys are seen and bush elephants are a sighting in this park. Day 3. The ultimate Gorilla experience.
Today you will be Getting up very early in the morning and transfer to the headquarters for a briefing before you ascend down into the rain forest for that once in a lifetime wildlife encounter with the mountain gorillas. These great apes are unique, they have families and support each other. A moment with these great apes gives you the feeling and an ultimate adventure. This trekking takes between 4 to 10 hrs depending on the location and movement of these apes.
Accommodation: Gorilla Valley lodge in Rushaga nested on a hill overlooking the mist covered forest or Nkuringo Gorilla camp located and nested on the Nkuringo Nteko ridge overlooking the Chain of the virunga Volcanoes.

Day 4. Ishasha for the tree climbing lions
Today you will enjoy another insightful and exciting self drive safari through the local villages, fertile and perhaps the most scenic region of Uganda. The Steep terraced landscapes with expansive windy rivers will eventually lead you to ishasha, the southern sector of the most Bio-diverse and oldest national game reserve. Travel Tip. The Afternoons are a great time for a game drive. Chances are high to encountering the Kings of the jungles hitching on the huge fig tress using the southern circuit.

Day 5. Queen Elizabeth National park
Start another beautiful and exciting self drive safari with an early game drive. This is usually for the other animal species like the hyenas, huge sized elephants, leopards, hippos, buffalos, jackles, kobs, bucks and Topi. consider driving the park about 10pm heading out to the northern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park to catch your afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga channel. Tip: After the insightful boat cruise you can use the channel track that is endowed with lots of wild animals playing seek and hide with elephants, the channel track stands high chances for the shy forest hogs and the leopard. Stopping and waiting for the elephants to cross the small track and give way, look at how they are over protective of their young ones makes this whole track interesting, however its advisable to stay 100m away from the elephants.

Day 6. Game drive and transfer to Kibale National park
Enjoy another exciting Uganda Self drive safari on the northern kasenyi sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Catch a glimpse of the morning early risers, predators heading back to their hideouts. Elephants, buffalos, water bucks, kobs, leopards, hyenas, lions roaming and hunting, bush bucks. lots of wildlife and birdlife is concentrated in this part of the park. Opt for the fishing village and relax while window shopping, there are good craft shops if you want to grab a souvenier for your loved ones back home. Consider proceeding up to kibale National Park through the mountain ranges of Rwenzori and the scenic Views through the crater lakes of kasenda. Distance 123km: Time 3hours

Day 7. Encountering our closest relatives the chimpanzees
